Entering the Harbor in Brockville, Canada
Our exploration of the St. Lawrence Seaway continued with stops in Brockville and Prescott. Our visit to Brockville coincided with a Tall Ship Festival on the waterfront. An unexpected treat! The waterfront had recently been redeveloped with vacation properties in the tower buildings near the harbor. The local railroad tunnel, which travelled underneath the town, had been refurbished into a local attraction. It boasted a light show synchronized to music.
Prescott was a quick overnight stop. we did get out for a lovely local bike ride. This is our way of getting a "feel" for new towns, but also a way to scope out places to eat or visit. We quickly settled on visiting the earth, stone, and timber fort that dated to the war of 1812, and an Irish Pub to which we would return for dinner.
