Great Loop: Fort Pierce
28 February 2022
After travelling 58 miles from West Palm Beach, we stopped for two nights in Fort Pierce. Really didn't have any expectations so we were pleased that we had a pleasant visit. There was an active "old town" core. It was nice to see the traditional downtown was doing well. We had a nice meal of shrimp and tacos at one of the restaurants. We spent a day getting caught up on paperwork and I replace the bulb in the anchor light. That's a must have for when you anchor out.
We also met Brian and Ellen's friend who moderates the Camano Troll (Its a boat) website.
The morning we departed we rode bikes to the local bakery for a pastry, quiche, and coffee.
We stayed at the Fort Pierce City Marina. We did not check their fuel or pumpout situation. We did use their showers and restrooms which were clean. I had a package shipped there. It was waiting in the marina office when we arrived. The marina wifi worked well and we had 30 and 50 amp power at our slip.
We also were excited to witness a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral while in Fort Pierce.
