Mike's and Beth's Adventures

Amy Marie, our new adventure machine

A little background - we were looking for a trailerable trawler, portable boating solution, and found Amy Marie.  She is a Ranger Tug R-27, 2012 vintage, with a Yanmar diesel engine.  She is trailerable without a wide load permit.  So can be hitched to a 3/4 ton pickup truck and moved to where ever you would like to have a boating adventure.  Currently she is berthed in the Pacific Northwest but soon will be off on new adventures.

  1. Congratulations on starting your Great Loop! We, too, have a classic RT 27, and are in a slip just like that one in Everett, Wa. We hope to start our Loop in the next couple of years, so will be very interested to hear of your experiences. Good luck and have a lot of fun.

    1. We were on "O" dock. We loved having the boat in Everett. You should get John Gray's book about doing the Loop. He just published it on Amazon. It is called Serendipity. He lives on Hat Island and we would see his R27 quite frequently as he tied up on the pump out dock near us when in town to shop. There is also a book by a lady who soloed an r25 on the loop. It was called "Crossing my Wake". Good inspiration for taking off on an epic adventure! Cheers
